Mate gourd maracas, 'Stars' (pair)

A favorite of many a musical ensemble, this pair of maracas is set to delight the music aficionado. Rocio Davila fashions them after those used by the Incas. These maracas are crafted by hand from dried gourds, or mates. Davila then engraves the starlight imagery with the use of a burin. The noise comes from small pebbles inside. Because natural gourds are used, size and shape could vary slightly.
